Joan Martha Dinerman is a US artist who has lived in Costa Rica since 1973. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a minor in painting from the Boston University and a Licentiate from the Fine Arts School of the University of Costa Rica. She has exhibited her work both individually and collectively in Costa Rica and the US.
Totem, Temple and Sacred text are part of a print portfolio that synthesizes how the artist has merged her spiritual life and her art. These works take the aesthetic value of the collage ‒a technique often used by the artist‒ to a graphic extent, also patently showing the artist’s interest in turning geometric simplicity and color into tools for meditation and spiritual affirmation.
