Resources for Communities

In the hopes of reaching communities that live far from our premises, we have several resources that can travel to any part of the country, in order to spread knowledge about our numismatic, archaeological, and artistic heritage. We carry out tours to different communities, offer traveling exhibitions, and have online resources for research and learning.

Touring Exhibitions

4.6.3.1 Touring Exhibitions A series of touring exhibitions travel free of charge to different parts of the country to spread the topics addressed in the exhibitions of the Museum; they are easy to transport and to assemble. We currently have eight touring exhibits that are lent to non-profit institutions such as municipalities, libraries, schools, and cultural centers. They can request and share them with their community throughout the year. Each touring exhibition contains posters, assembly manual, publications, and videos among other resources.

The traveling exhibitions allow the museum to leave its walls, using easy-to-assemble materials based on the thematic contents of our past temporary exhibits. They are a condensed version, with high quality images and texts, addressed at a diverse audience.

Field Trips to Communities

The Education Department team travels to rural communities and indigenous peoples carrying a touring exhibit that addresses the topics of the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum. This enriching experience is shared with students and people in the communities through mediated visits and other educational activities.

Research and learning

This space is designed to foster curiosity, discovery, and learning. In this section, you will find references to articles, books, and all kinds of documents related to the contents addressed at the Museums of the Central Bank. By exploring this repository, you will further your knowledge on the topics you found as you walked through our exhibitions. Periodically, we make recommendations of readings from interesting and useful documents that are chosen from the suggestions of the museum's staff members.

The repository keeps growing thanks to new research and exhibitions we conduct; therefore, you can always come back and find new materials.

Educational Resources for the Classroom

Our Museums are spaces in which topics of elementary, secondary, and higher education can be creatively integrated with the contents associated to our temporary and permanent collections. These options include a variety of theme cards, educational kits, and virtual tours that allow the educator to generate different learning dynamics through questions and activities for students to connect what they see to their own knowledge and everyday experiences.

Visit resources

We conceive the museum as a space for learning, discovery, and reflection, and for generating connections between the past and the present; children, young people, and adults dialogue with our collections and enrich their contents based on their own questions, experiences, and knowledge. Feel free to use these resources. Make an adventure full of discovery out of your visit

Anímese a usar estos recursos y haga de su visita una aventura llena de descubrimientos.
